What is Coss

COSS (Crypto-One-Stop-Solution) started as a crypto currency exchange platform with big plans for the future to grow out to a crypto (merchant) payment gateway. The COSS token is a revenue-generating cryptocurrency, providing holders a 50% payment from all fees taken from trading on the COSS platform.

In April 2019 Coss merged with Arex and the dividend paying token swapped to the COS token. An right at the moment you would think they were back on track they closed the exchange early 2020, announced a takeover and we are sort of waiting ever since. In March 2020 the platform reopened but even half way May 2020 most assets are still in review and can’t be accessed.

The platform has been changed from a spot exchange (typical market, limit order against order book) to a derivatives exchange. As a derivatives exchange with a Metatrader 5, margin orders are the primary function (longs/shorts using leverage) supplemented by an instant swap function that lets you trade one asset for another at current market price instantly (essentially a market order). Through XHUB liquidity is provided.

As so much has changed we removed all previous results as they are no longer representative for the current platform. At the moment we have no clue when and how much dividend we can expect.

COSS Payout Structure

In general all fees generated on the COSS.IO platform will go into a 50/50 split with COSS Token holders on a daily basis. At least that was the case before the takeover. After the takeover there was only a promise it would continue but we still have to see evidence.

The table below is not representative as it was a reflection on the old situation.

Some basic revenue and dividend examples.

Lifetime is from April 2019, Coss is running longer, but after the update in december all historical payment information was gone from their website and I did not saved them before. I decided also to remove the weekly payments from Q1 2019 because they mess up with the yield calculations.Daily volume source is CMC and might not be off from the actual volume due to timing of my snapshots and or accuracy of CMC. Over time the CMC numbers seems to corresponds with a avg 0.1% trading fee.

My view on Coss

2020-05-11 March 9 I got my mail telling me trading has resumed. March 30 my KYC was approved, but my address approval is still pending. April 11 finally my ETH dust was audited (whatever that may be), but still waiting for my cos to be audited. I have no idea what to think of it at the moment. There is progress like the Metatrader5, but things are going so slow (like auditing tokens, why the hell do you need to audit it and why can my ETH be audited and not my Cos at the same time, and what audit is it. Also the dividend is unclear when, how much, what is the revenue and such. Well as I can't sell my tokens I have to hold on to it and see what happens. It still could be a success, but my doubt levels are increasing.

2019-02-01 The fact that you receive trading fees dividend in all tokens is as well appealing as annoying. On one hand you build up a nice diverse portfolio, but you need an awful lot of COSS tokens to make any sense. I hope Coss will switch convert all to either Ether or COSS. They already did with all the non erc-20 tokens in December 2018.

That dust also give you another disadvantage. To get your rewards you have to “Distribute” them at a cost of 0.001 eth. That does not sound much with current ether prices but Is still 0.054 ETH to get all your rewards. You need around 100 COSS tokens just to break even in a year.

Nevertheless is COSS producing higher yield than its opponents like Bankera or KuCoin but it only makes sense if you hold at least 50,000 tokens. But if Coss will grow as big as the major exchanges at the moment, even a crappy exchange like HitBTC does 100 times more volume!! It could be a very good future investment. At moment of writing Coss is listed as 87 on the CMC exchange list.

Upcoming Coss Payment

Daily (when resumed)

To get dividend you need to hold your COSS tokens on the COSS platform and everything goes automatic.

If you hold COSS during snapshot in any erc_20 supported Ethereum Wallet like MyEtherWallet, Nano Ledger S, Trezor or any other you will receive your pay out automatically on the COSS platform, after you have assigned you wallet to your COSS platform account. See here how to do that.
